Welcome to Week 1 of the #GoalsProject!
Today, we are thrilled to officially kick-off the project with you and nearly 3,000 other teachers from around the world! We welcome you to the project and thank you for joining with us to support students to take action for people and planet through the Sustainable Development Goals!

Objective 2: Meet our Goals Project Student Ambassadors
In recognizing the importance of student voice and the value in having students learn from students, we are thrilled to announce our Goals Project Student Ambassador, Ayush Chopra. Ayush will be joining all month long, sharing videos for your students!
Objective 3: Let’s meet our classes!
Now that you have met the teachers in your individual group, it is now time for the students to all meet each other! Please share a class introduction message on this Flipgrid. Click VIEW 34 TOPICS, and locate your group # + grades (note: 2 levels per Global Goal) and share your virtual handshake (please feel free to do a full class message or individual student messages). NOTE: Please adhere to privacy/consent policies as stated under the Welcome Week: Privacy and Consent. Students on do not photograph lists per your school should not be on video, and please do not share student full names or other identifying information. For more information, please see Flipgrid's Privacy and Data Protection policy. Flipgrid introductions are optional, and please remember to only join your assigned group for recording.

- Introduce the Sustainable Development Goals to your students
- Meet our Goals Project Student Ambassador
- Invite your students to share a message introducing your class to the other classes in the project
Objective 1: Meet the Global Goals
Here are ideas and resources to support you as you and your students get to know the Goals:
- Print the Global Goals poster and the 17 Goals icon posters and post them in your classroom (select Non-UN Entities)
- Share related videos:

- Share about the #GoalsProject and look at the map of the classrooms around the world joining in. GOOGLE MAP
- Have an open class discussion. Discuss how “kids” can make a difference in the world by 2030. Why is it important for students to be involved? What does it mean to take action?
- Share that your classroom will have one Global Goal for the project. Build excitement and suspense all week long by letting students make predictions, guesses, and wishes. At the end of the week, reveal your Class Goal by placing the Goal number (or printed icon) in a sealed envelope or in a wrapped box. Reveal the Goal and celebrate!

During Week 2, your class will work to get to know your Class Goal and to start thinking on the project/solution they will want to work on. Here are projects from last year for inspiration.
