Frequently Asked Questions

Is The Goals Project free?

The Goals Project is a free global collaboration project for all classrooms of the world.

Who can participate?

All PreK-college classrooms of the world are invited to join!

How do I sign up?

Click HERE. Registration open now through project start on January 25, 2021.

What is a Goals Project Team?

In early January, you will receive an email that shares your assigned classroom Global Goal. Classrooms will be teamed with similarly aged students and will work for six weeks through guided inquiry and exploration. All learning experiences are designed to for flexibility for online, face-to-face, and hybrid learning environments.

After we receive our assigned class Global Goal, what should we do next?

You will receive a Goals Project Kit with information to share with your class on the Sustainable Development Goals.

At the start of the project on January 25th, you can reveal your assigned Class Global Goal (each classroom will be assigned to one of the Global Goals with all 17 represented by classrooms across the world).

Your class will create a small project sharing about your goal and about your class
(approximately 1 hour/week).

After we complete our Class Goal Project, what should we do next?

After your class completes the project, you will share with the other participating classrooms.

On March 4, 2021, we will have an online celebration of learning with our Day of Solutions where classrooms will have an opportunity to share projects and hear from other students to learn about all 17 Goals!

What if I have never participated in a global project or if the Global Goals are new for me?

The Goals Project is designed to be a fit for classrooms new or experienced in global collaboration and with the Global Goals.

How long should the project take?

  • approximately 2 hours of preparation
  • approximately 1 hour of instructional time/week for the project
  • extension activities will be offered for each week

Is there a way to be involved if I am not currently working directly with students? (e.g. administrators, coaches, etc)

Each team will be led by a Team Facilitator. We would love for you to consider signing up to lead a team. Facilitators will be assigned 1 Global Goal and a group of classrooms. Our project facilitators are the go-to experts in case of questions and act as cheerleaders to encourage classrooms along the way.

Facilitators will volunteer approximately 1 hour/week for the months of January, February, and March.
NOTE: All positions for 2021 facilitators are now full. Please feel free to add your name to the list though for future projects.

Who should I contact with questions?

Please contact Jennifer Williams, #TeachSDGs and Take Action Global Co-Founder, with any questions.
