Teacher Orientation Week
January 16-22
Hi Goals Project teacher!
Welcome to the 2023 Goals Project! We are thrilled to welcome you along with teachers from across the world to join in celebration of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and taking action in the classroom. For this 6-week global collaboration project, you and your students will have opportunities to meet international experts, work through inquiry and innovation, and collaborate with global classrooms as you together take on the Global Goals!
Looking forward to a fantastic global learning experience with you!

Goal of Project
Over the course of the project weeks, global classrooms will join on a team of global classrooms and will be assigned one of the Sustainable Development Goals. You will have a Team Facilitator guiding the way and each week you will receive updates, resources, and reminders.
The activities are designed to guide classrooms to work with other global classrooms (in their age range) and to propose a solution based on one assigned Global Goal. Examples of past projects can be found HERE, HERE, and HERE.
Student Survey
This week, start with sharing the SDG Transforming Education Survey with your students. Students should individually complete this survey before January 24th. It should take approximately 10 minutes:

Final Project
Each teacher has been assigned to a Goals Project Group. We have 17 groups each covering different age groups and Global Goals. Volunteer educators have been assigned to lead each group as facilitators. Next week, you will find out your Class Global Goal! Will it be SDG 13: Climate Action? Maybe SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals? Maybe SDG 2: Zero Hunger! The anticipation is building! :)
Once you receive your Class Global Goal, you will work with your students following the weekly activities to research the Goal and create a project on that specific Goal that you will be invited to share back with your team. This is an opportunity to showcase the talents, interests, and cultures represented in your classroom and community. All ideas for projects are welcome: art, inventions, research presentations, music, technology, experiment, video, theatre, interviews, photo book, language activity. Make it personal; invite in inquiry and exploration! Watch for more information on this coming up next week!
Remove barriers!
The Goals Project is designed to be for everyone! Anyone, anywhere; those with past experience with the Sustainable Development Goals or new altogether to global collaboration. Online, in-person, or blended learning! We want it to be fun, free of barriers, and not a drain on time! It is meant to be a start of a conversation around the Global Goals, environmental literacy, and social good. Some classes will only be able to dedicate an hour each week to the project and others may choose to go deeper. Mainly, just know any level of participation is welcome, and we are here to help every step of the way!
